So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
How many times do we fail to glorify God in our daily routine? How many times do we get lost in the rhythm of our day to day lives? We show up to church on Sunday, but when we return to our workplace, our school, or our household, we fail to bring glory to God in all that we do. I don’t say that to make you feel bad, I say it because it’s something I struggle with almost daily. I forget that I am sent on a mission to proclaim the name of Jesus through my actions and the words that I use.
Instead of getting caught up in a paycheck or a grade from a teacher, what if we became the hands and feet of Jesus. What if we lived our lives in the same way Paul encouraged the church in Corinth. One practical way to do this is to simply ask the people at work or school, “How are you doing?” When they give the simple, “I’m good” answer. Seek them out and make an effort to find out how they really are doing. Offer to pray for them. This may be awkward but if we begin to do this, our schools would change, our workplaces would change, and our cities would change; if we were a people on a mission to glorify God in ALL of our actions, conversations, and encounters.
Heavenly Father, we come to you today in prayer and ask that you would be glorified in all that we do. We ask that you equip us and strengthen us to live on a mission to bring people to you. Be with us as we go through our daily lives, whether that be at school, work, or our home. Give us at least one opportunity this week to share your truths with someone who does not know who you are. Amen.
Today, pray for our Location Pastors’ families. Pray the Lord encourages them and protects their families.
