22 So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy. 23 In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.
As we dive into week two of 21 days of prayer and fasting, there is a great reminder to pray in John 16. Jesus tells his disciples about prayer and how the Father relates to it. Jesus tells them to ASK for things in His name when they pray to the Father.
The truth that Jesus is trying to show them is that their Father promises to hear them when they pray. And even more, your father promises to hear you. He promises to answer you. It may not be answered how you think, but the outcome shows He hears you.
And this is where we want to start this week. It’s important to pray the promises of God, not to remind God, but to remind you. God already knows everything that He has declared and promised you in Jesus, but there is a supernatural shift that happens in your heart and mind when you begin to pray the promises. The truth of the scriptures shows us that ALL the promises of God are answered ‘YES’ in Christ Jesus.
As you pray them by faith, faith begins to grow in you. Life's struggle no longer dims your eyes, but when you pray the promises of God, it lightens your life with the hope of His faithfulness and truth. This week, pray with passion. Pray with enthusiasm. Pray the promises of God because Jesus went to the Cross to answer them for you!
Father, thank you for your promises. Thank you that they are all answered ‘YES’ in Jesus. Lord, would you bring your promises alive to me. Father, change my perspective and increase my Hope in you.
