This is what the Lord says—he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters, who drew out the chariots and horses, the army and reinforcements together, and they lay there, never to rise again, extinguished, snuffed out like a wick: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland
Change… how much do you want it? How much do you desire it? We all want it. So much so that even right now, we are in a sermon series about change here at Journey Church. Change captivates us; for so many of us, it’s like a carrot on a stick. We work and work but never really reach it.
Change is HARD, but not impossible. You see, change comes from what Jesus did on the Cross. Because of that act on the Cross, freedom and change are available to us through Him. But you don’t stumble into change. It’s an active choice to live out of what Jesus has done. You have to desire to change because Jesus has made way for it.
You see, change is vital to the life of a believer. Luke 9:23– denying yourself leads to change, Psalm 51:10 – a clean heart is a sign of change, John 3:30 – to decrease is to change. The question now remains, are you hungry for it?
This week, pray with passion and hunger for the Lord to bring that change you need in your life.
Father, thank you for making change possible on the Cross. Thank you for sending Jesus to make change a reality in my life. Create in me the change my heart needs to chase after you. Father, I don’t want this week to end without being changed by you.
