Do You Trust Me?

Proverbs 3:5-6

Past pain, broken relationships, and the need for control have a way of clouding our faith. Proverbs 3:5-6 challenges us to surrender every part of our lives—not just the easy parts—to God’s wisdom, timing, and ways. This week, we will explore whether our daily choices reflect trust in God or in ourselves.

1. If you could have a superpower, would you choose the ability to control the future or the ability to always know what the right decision is? Why?

2. What stood out to you most from this week’s message about trusting God?

3. Shana mentioned three areas that impact how we trust God. Which of these resonated with you the most and why?

  • We don’t trust when we are fearful of losing control.
  • We don’t trust when we don’t spend time with God.
  • We don’t trust when we think our way is better.

4. Have you ever struggled to trust God after being let down by people? How do those experiences affect your relationship with Him?

5. Read Proverbs 3:5-6. How does this passage define trust in God?

6. In what areas of your life are you tempted to lean on your own understanding instead of trusting God?

7. Read 2 Chronicles 34:3 and 2 Kings 23:25. King Josiah trusted God. What actions did Josiah take that demonstrated his trust?

8. Explain the connection between spending time in God's Word and our ability to trust Him.

9. Shana asked, "Are there things that I am so desperate to control that I actually become disobedient?" How have you seen this play out in your own life?

10. Can you share a time when you struggled to trust God? What fears or doubts were behind that struggle?

11. When was a time you trusted God and saw Him come through in a powerful way?

12. Shana said, "Our obedience is actually an indicator of whether or not we trust Him." How does this statement challenge or encourage you?

13. How can we remind ourselves daily that God is trustworthy, even when circumstances say otherwise?
