Living Loved
Shana Hilton
This week, Shana shared how understanding the depth of God’s love for her truly transformed her life. Above all else, she wants you to know that God loves you! This message is not just for anyone; it's for you right at this moment. It's not about who you were or who you hope to become. This truth may seem overwhelming, but today, we will discuss, how God wants us to live loved.
1. What stood out the most as you reflected on Shana’s message?
2. Read 1 John 4:16. John tells us that God loves us, so let’s live loved. Whoever lives in love lives loved. Even though you know God's love, are you relying on it?
3. What’s the difference between “knowing” about the love of God and “living” in the love of God?
4. Have you ever struggled with feelings of not being chosen, not being wanted, with being abandoned?
5. Read Philippians 4:8. Paul challenges us to focus on all things positive. Why are negative thoughts and lies easier to believe? Why do our minds always go to the negative?
6. How important is it for us to choose to think about things that are true, right, and noble? What are the consequences that manifest in our lives when we grumble, complain, and criticize all the time?
7. Shana challenged us to “Remember Whose You Are.” She went on to say, “You are not chosen for what you do, but solely based on who you are.” How does knowing that God loves you beyond measure help you to realize that you don’t have to fight for scraps of His love?
8. Read John 15:16. What does this verse say about Jesus choosing us?
9. Read Psalm 34:8-10. Hold tight to the one who loves us. What does this passage say about God being our refuge? How does remembering that God is our refuge help us when we are hurting?
10. Read Psalms 23:1 “The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing!“ What does a shepherd do for his sheep? What does it mean to you that God is your shepherd?
