Watch the Message

1. What is the most memorable worship experience you’ve ever had? What made it that way?

2. Read Acts 2:37-41. What is happening in this passage? What does it teach us about how the Holy Spirit moved that day as Peter preached the gospel?

3. We talked about how the Holy Spirit creates a hunger for God within us. Have you ever experienced a worship gathering when someone was preaching, and you were “cut to the heart” by the Spirit working? Describe how that happened.

4. Read Acts 2:42. The early church devoted themselves to the apostle’s teaching (to the Word). We learned that God speaks to us personally by His Spirit through the Word. How does this work?

5. If God uses the scriptures to speak directly to us, what steps can we take daily to bring His word with us wherever we go?

6. Reread Act 2:42. What does it say about prayer? How does prayer help us depend on God? Have you ever experienced Him sustaining you as you prayed to Him? Can you give an example?

7. Read Act 2:43. What was causing them to experience awe before God? God shows us His glory as we gather together. Why is gathering with other believers to worship as a church important? What do you miss out on if you choose to stay away from the regular gatherings of the church?

8. Read Acts 2:44-47. In what ways did God transform the people as they began to live out the teachings of Jesus together?

9. Why is it so important to live in community with others regularly? How does God use relationships to transform us?

10. Regarding the six commitments for 40 Days, which one is the most difficult for you to embrace? Why?
