Journey Summer 22 – Part 5
Watch the Message
This week we are going to talk about one of the most powerful weapons that God has given us, it’s a divine power. It is a secret weapon because most people have no clue it’s even a weapon. It’s the weapon of praise. God designed your praise to him to be a weapon that overcomes every battle you face. Praise is your secret weapon.
Read 2 Chronicles 20:12. We’ve been looking at this verse over the past few weeks. What has it come to mean to you?
Read 2 Chronicles 20:2. Praise does not take you away from the battle it gives you perspective. Jehoshaphat said, “God I have faith that you will uphold me.” Why would he praise God for that specifically?
Read Psalm 42:11. “Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God!” What are the questions that David is asking here? What is his response?
Praise Breaks the power of fear. Pastor James said, “praise and fear cannot exist at the same time.” Why do you suppose it works that way?
Pastor James also said, “Praise changes your perspective” How can we use our fear and discouragement to point us to God?
Read 1 Peter 5:7. When I don’t praise, I focus on myself and start to actually agree with the enemy by making my own problems bigger than God’s promises. Can you share a time when you gave your worries over to God and He took care of your needs in that moment?
Read Philippians 4:19. This is a promise from God! He will do it. If we know He will provide all things tomorrow, how can we praise Him for that today?
