We want you to know today that you have a standing invitation to experience God's presence and power in every battle you are facing. God wants you to live in victory, to walk in your destiny, and become more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus. But how? This is what we are talking about this week.
1. Can you recall your most memorable worship service? What made it so special for you?
2. Read 2 Chronicles 20:15-17. What was the message the prophet shared with the king? What were God’s instructions to the people? Why do you think God required them to do anything at all?
3. God said He would fight the battle. What do you suppose would have happened if the people, emboldened by God’s declaration that He would deliver them, chose to fight the battle themselves?
4. How messy do our lives get when we choose to fight battles that God wants us to leave to Him?
5. Read 2 Chronicles 20:20. Notice that the people were up early, preparing to flee (run from their battles). What was the king’s message to the people on that morning?
6. Pastor James said, “Fear and faith are contagious.” To live victoriously, you must connect relationally. This is why it’s so important to surround yourself with the right kind of people. How does coming together in a worship service strengthen your faith?
7. Can you share a time when someone said to you, “Have faith in the LORD your God.” How did it affect you? How did it change your life?
8. Read 2 Chronicles 20:21. What is happening in this verse?
9. Armies have surrounded them; the armies plan to kill them all and take everything they have. Why are they singing?
10. Pastor James said, “As others speak faith into your life, it fights the lies that fill your mind.” What are some of the lies that your mind tells you? How can others help you refute those lies? Who can you go to that will speak truth into your life?
11. Read Hebrews 3:13. “But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called "Today," so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.” The encouraging words of fellow believers are supernaturally anointed by God to ignite the faith of others and to encourage them to move forward. How often are we to encourage others? How are you doing with that?
12. Read Isaiah 41:10. ”So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” What promises is God making to you in this verse? Who do you know that needs this encouragement right now?
Memory verse: 2 Chronicles 20:12 NIV: "For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you."
