He Wants You To Know Him
Watch the Message
This week we spent time examining the simple but profound truth that God wants you to know Him. He is not a God who is playing hard to get or who has hidden Himself from us. He has gone to great lengths so you can know and experience Him.
1. What’s the difference between knowing about someone and truly knowing them? What are some ways or situations where a person might let someone else know their mind and their heart?
2. Read Psalm 19:1-4 & Romans 1:20. According to these verses, what can we discover about God when we observe the universe He has made? In what ways are you led to stand in awe of God when you look at His creation?
3. What are some of the things we cannot know about God just by looking at His creation?
4. Read 2 Timothy 3:16-17 & Exodus 34:5-8. What are some of the ways God has revealed His heart to us through His Word?
5. Read Hebrews 1:2-4 & 2 Corinthians 5:21. What does it mean that Jesus is the "exact imprint of his nature?” How does Jesus demonstrate the heart of God the Father?
6. What did Jesus do that removes every obstacle between us and God?
7. Read Galatians 4:6-7. The Holy Spirit causes us to experience the presence and power of Christ right now today. What are some of the ways His Spirit allows you to experience God?
Can you think of the times when you have felt the presence of God the most?
8. If God has gone to all these lengths to make a way for you to know Him, how should that shape our actions?
9. How does this truth shape your pursuit of Jesus? How does it shape your expectancy in tough circumstances or in your day-to-day life?
10. How can this group help encourage you to pursue Jesus with confidence this year?
