Watch the Message
1. Part of our spiritual journey is to realize that God has created us on purpose, for a purpose. Some of us have even wondered, "Why do I not know what God's purpose and plan is for my life?" It's because you've never done the second step in the journey of getting your heart clear and settling the pain of yesterday so you can see the promise of tomorrow. But as you take steps to get connected to Christ, as you take steps to stay connected to community and find some healing and freedom, what you discover is that God wants to use you. This is how you grow spiritually. Always taking next steps. This week we will be talking about your calling and about how it really makes life exciting.
2. Pastor James said, “Your calling is what God wants to do through you to make a difference around you.” Can you share a time when someone made a difference in your life by following the calling that God has in their life?
3. Read Ephesians 2:10. What does this verse mean to you?
4. Read Acts 20:24. “finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me.” What do you think it looks like for you to finish the race and complete the task that Jesus has given you?
5. Romans 12:6 NLT says, "In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well." Can you share what your spiritual gifts are? What opportunities have you had to exercise your gifts?
6. Read 2 Corinthians 1:3–4. One way that God seems to redeem the difficult things we go through, is to prepare us to help others. Can you share about a tough experience you went through and have been able to help others as a result?
7. Pastor James said, “You can do something more profitable, but you can’t do anything more significant to find your calling as part of this movement that Jesus launched called the church. You have been invited to join this movement called the church because the church is not something you attend, it’s who you were called to be.” What excites you about being a part of this movement that we call the church?
