Rhythms • Part 2 Watch the Message Mark 2:23-28What is one personal takeaway you had from the sermon this weekend? When you only focus on a routine, you can miss the rhythm of meeting with God. Share a time when you were so focused on a routine that you missed the relationship. Jesus tells the Pharisees in this passage “The sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath”. What do you think he means when he says the sabbath was made for man?Rhythm is found between the lines. God does not set up rules in order to take life from us, but to give us the most abundant life. What are some situations in your life where you have struggled with that idea? Are there commands from God that you have trouble understanding in light of this truth? We can make the pursuit of God about trying to earn something from God (love, acceptance, security, etc). What are some ways that this has played out in your life?Take a look at these two statements: “I live pursuing God because I want God to love me,” “I live pursuing God because He loves me”. Talk about what makes these perspectives so different.
